AT A GLANCE
Mealime has announced that the app will be discontinued on 21 October 2026. Its recipes will remain available through Meals Hub. Read Mealime’s announcement before making changes to your account.
What has Mealime announced?
Albertsons Companies acquired Mealime in 2021. The company is now directing people toward Meals Hub, a meal-planning feature within its grocery apps and websites. The same core team will continue working on that experience.
This is a change of product and account experience. It does not mean every recipe is being withdrawn from use.
Separate the recipes from your personal account.
Your favourite dish and the record that you saved it are different things. Mealime says its recipe collection continues in Meals Hub, while personal data will be deleted when the app closes. Some preferences and settings need to be established in Meals Hub again.
Make your own record of the recipes, settings and current plan you care about. The closing notice does not document a complete account-export workflow.
What should you save before switching?
- A short list of favourites. Start with meals you have cooked and want to make again. Record the title and a usable recipe link where one is available.
- Your current meal plan. A screenshot preserves the arrangement of your week even if you rebuild it elsewhere.
- Your shopping list. Keep a copy before changing apps, including items you added yourself.
- Your preferences. Write down serving sizes, dietary settings and ingredient dislikes so you can compare the next app against them.
When saving a recipe, open the result and check the ingredient quantities and every cooking step. A file on your phone is only useful if it contains the information you need.
Start with one favourite.
Check a recipe backup before saving the rest.
Choose what you want to keep doing.
Think about your last useful session in Mealime. Were you choosing dinners from a collection, importing a recipe, cooking with instructions or checking off a grocery list? Use that task to test the next app.
Meals Hub is worth considering if keeping access to Mealime’s catalogue matters most. You can use its recipes, plans and lists even if you cannot shop at an Albertsons store. For other approaches, see our meal-planner comparison.
Try one small plan before paying for a long subscription. Check the app on your own phone and make sure its grocery list is useful at the store you actually visit.
Common questions
Will Mealime Pro keep charging me?
Mealime says existing Pro subscribers will not be charged additional subscription fees before discontinuation. Check your own subscription screen for its status.
Do I need an Albertsons store nearby?
No. Mealime’s notice says Meals Hub can still be used for recipes, plans and shopping lists without shopping at one of its stores. Retailer checkout availability is a separate question.
Will every Mealime recipe URL stop working?
The notice announces the app’s closure, but does not explicitly establish the future of every public recipe URL. Save and verify what you need rather than relying on a bookmarked link alone.
Can MealPot transfer my whole Mealime account?
No. The website backup tool does not sign in to Mealime or transfer your account, favourites, settings or existing weekly plan. See the switch checklist for the steps you can take yourself.
Keep track as you switch.
