AT A GLANCE

There is no single replacement for every Mealime routine. Start with what matters most: access to the same recipes, a suggested weekly plan, your own recipe collection or a shared grocery list.

Compare the approaches.

This is a comparison of product approaches, not a hands-on scorecard. Follow each maker’s link to check current prices, supported devices and regional availability.

Feature sources checked 12 September 2026. The comparison below uses each maker’s published feature pages. It does not establish that a particular Mealime link will import into every app.

MealPot starts with preferences and helps build a meal plan, then brings the ingredients together in a shopping list. It is worth considering if you want help choosing meals rather than maintaining a calendar from a blank page.

There are limits to be clear about. A budget is a target rather than a guaranteed checkout total. The website’s recipe backup is not a complete Mealime-account migration. MealPot’s link importer requires Pro. Check the options in your installed app before moving recipes.

Try the illustrated import guide with the real chicken tenders example. It includes a short Mealime recording and a checklist for reviewing the imported amounts.

If you want to keep your own recipe collection.

Paprika combines web recipe saving, planning and grocery lists. Its maker also documents cloud sync between its supported versions. Plan to Eat takes a calendar-first approach: save recipes, put them on the calendar and use the resulting list.

Before moving a large collection, test one recipe with a long ingredient list. Check fractions, serving sizes and sectioned instructions. Import and export formats are app-specific; “JSON” alone does not mean two apps can exchange recipes.

If the shared list matters most.

AnyList’s shared lists update for the people using them. That may matter more than recipe discovery when two people split a grocery run. Check the paid-plan requirements for the other features you want.

Also distinguish a shopping list from a store basket. A list can travel with you to a store; online ordering still involves choosing products, checking availability and paying through the retailer.

A five-minute test before you choose.

  1. Open one recipe you would really cook.
  2. Check whether its portions fit your household.
  3. Add it to a plan and inspect the grocery quantities.
  4. Try replacing a meal and removing something you already own.
  5. Find out how to save or export your information later.
Which option keeps Mealime’s recipes?

Mealime points people to Meals Hub for continued access to its catalogue. Your personal favourites and settings should not be assumed to transfer automatically.

Will a MealPot backup file open in every app?

No. It is a structured backup. Check the destination app’s supported formats before using it as a migration file.

Should I pay for a year immediately?

Use an available trial or inspect the purchase terms first. Test your actual planning and shopping routine before choosing a longer subscription.
